Amazon sword plants are very common in the aquarium hobby, being that they are beautiful and easy to care for. They offer excellent and attractive coverage to the background of an aquascape. These plants have short stems that grow in a rosette, bearing long and ovoid leaves with a pointed tip. Their leaves are dark or bright green in color with prominent veins and slightly wavy shape.

Amazon sword plants can get pretty huge, making them a great fit for a large tank. Their large leaves can easily restrict light to other plants if they are not pruned regularly. These plants propagate through side shoots off of their leaves, which can be trimmed and replanted into the substrate. To control the size of your Amazon sword plant you can remove the side shoots and older leaves.

With a nutrient rich substrate these plants will tolerate most lighting conditions, but moderate to high lighting is ideal. CO2 injection is not necessary but will help the plant grow faster if desired. Amazon sword plants will grow submersed or emersed. Emersed plants produce lovely white flowers.

The Electric Blue Jack Dempsey (Rocio octofasciata "Electric Blue"), also known as the Powder Blue Jack Dempsey, is an almost unbelievably bright blue color variant of its species. For a time, it was believed to possibly be a hybrid of the Jack Dempsey Cichlid and another New World cichlid species, but the current general consensus is that it is a natural color mutation that was isolated and developed within the original species. This variant is relatively new to the hobby, but it has now been selectively cultivated long enough to produce much healthier, consistent offspring than those that existed in the early years of development. The Electric Blue Jack Dempsey is typically more docile and attains a smaller size than "wild color" individuals of the species.

The Electric Blue Jack Dempsey Cichlid will thrive in an aquarium with a sandy substrate and plenty of refuge such as clay pots, driftwood, and rock formations. It typically will not eat ornamental plants, but it does like to do a fair amount of digging, so plants that attach to driftwood and rockwork are recommended. As mentioned before, this color variant is typically not nearly as aggressive as the typical "wild color" Jack Dempsey, so it is often compatible with other peaceful and semi-aggressive fish too large to be considered prey. Territoriality is typically at its peak during spawning. Dwarf shrimp and other small, delicate invertebrates should not be kept with the Electric Blue Jack Dempsey Cichlid. This fish can attain a considerable size of up to 8 inches (20 cm), so most ornamental invertebrates will eventually be considered prey. If spawning is desired, tankmates of other species should be kept to a minimum or avoided altogether.

Ember tetras are active shoaling fish that thrive in groups of at least 6 to 10 individuals. They are Native fish orihinal from river in Brazil with nice orange color. Larger groups reduce stress and encourage natural schooling behavior, making them ideal for peaceful community tanks and nano setups.

Their tiny size and gentle temperament make them perfect companions for other small species like rasboras, pygmy corydoras, and dwarf shrimp. Keep them away from large or aggressive fish that may view them as prey.

Such a beautiful green Cory species with marking on body

These fish are native to the freshwater Atrato and San Juan River basins of Colombia in South America. They frequent areas that are slow-moving, such as small tributaries and streams, where the temperature ranges from 73 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Though the emperor tetra is distributed over a narrow range in the wild, it has become a favorite aquarium pet and is farmed for sale around the world. As of 2014, the IUCN Red List (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) has insufficient data to determine the status of this species in its natural habitat in the wild; more research is needed. In captivity, the species breeds readily. The attractive coloration and elegant fins of the regal emperor tetra leave little doubt why the emperor tetra was given its name. Introduced to home aquaria in 1960, it has become one of the more popular of the tetra family of fishes. Fins of both sexes have a yellow hue and are edged in black on the outer periphery; they are red where the fin meets the body. The body of the fish is blue-gray with mauve tones, and it displays an almost iridescent sheen. A dark stripe runs horizontally from head to tail, and the body is lighter in color below the stripe.

Introduce a prehistoric touch to your aquarium with the endlicheri Bichir, a captivating species that brings ancient elegance to any tank. Native to Central Africa's river systems, this remarkable fish showcases a striking pattern of dark vertical bands across its gray-green body, creating an almost dinosaur-like appearance that commands attention. Beyond its visual appeal, the endlicheri Bichir is a fascinating addition for experienced aquarists seeking behavioral complexity. These nocturnal predators possess an air-breathing organ, allowing them to survive in oxygen-depleted waters and adding to their remarkable adaptability. Their elongated body and deliberate movements reflect millions of years of evolutionary refinement, making them living fossils that spark genuine wonder and conversation among aquarium enthusiasts.

Leopard Snake Skin Discus are omnivorous and require a balanced diet. They can be fed high-quality flakes, pellets, and granules specifically formulated for discus fish. Supplementing their diet with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia is recommended to provide essential protein and nutrients. Offering a varied diet enhances their coloration and promotes their overall health.

The Leopard Snake Skin Discus is a highly desired fish variety due to its unique and captivating combination of leopard spots and snake-like patterns. Its peaceful nature, coupled with its remarkable appearance, makes it an excellent addition to well-maintained community aquariums or dedicated discus tanks. However, proper care, including suitable tank conditions, consistent water parameters, and a balanced diet, is necessary for their successful keeping and optimal health.

The Eureka Red Jake Peacock Cichlid is another Aulonocara species of cichlids. The males of the species feature a beautiful metallic blue face that extends to the tail, contrasted with splashes of metallic red along their back and behind the gills.  They are a striking and distinctive species that makes a beautiful addition to a home aquarium.

Eureka Red Jake Peacocks are less aggressive than other cichlids so they can be paired peacefully with other peacock cichlids. Be wary of dominant males and consider only one male in the tank at a time. These fish pair with the German Red Peacock and Blue Neon Peacock fine.

This hybrid is derived from the Otter Point Peacock. Males have a light blue colored face with the same blue running from their pectoral fins to their tail.  Their red color develops on the top part of their body, going midway up their dorsal fin.

• Adult Size:  6-7"
• Temperament:  Mildly aggressive. Displays conspecific aggression.
• Compatibility:  Keep with other Peacocks and Haps of a similar size. Avoid keeping with Mbunas.
• Suggested Diet:  SRC Hi-Intensity color food to promote color development.

There is a saying, "Playing with fish is playing with water," which speaks to the importance of the water environment for the hobby of aquarium fish and aquatic life. Not every clear water means healthy fish, but it must be "good water". In a suitable environment, aquarium fish will maximize their beauty with all the most colorful colors. Not only that, fish eat more, thoroughly digest food, absorb many nutrients necessary for the body to grow quickly, with less loss, less disease, and uniform size... When the farming environment changes in a negative direction, it will cause negative effects, causing growth and reproduction to decline. Diseases arise, directly affecting the survival rate and uniformity, especially making the fish color gradually fade to discoloration, and worst of alll, fish die en masse.

To overcome the above conditions, people often use probiotics. Probiotics are biological products containing beneficial living microorganisms. Depending on the intended use, these microorganisms can be bacteria or fungi. When placed in a suitable living environment, these microorganisms will become active. Ammonia comes from aquarium fish and is released directly into the lake. Over a long period of time, if ammonia is not cleaned up, the increasingly high concentration will affect the ability of plants and animals to grow in the lake. More seriously, Ammonia causes fish to lose their appetite, become fazy, and easily die. The best way to remove ammonia (NH,) is to create bacteria to convert it into safe and less harmful substances. That's why EXTRABIO was created to solve these problems.
