Even though the Chinese High Fin Banded shark isn’t a real shark, it is still a bad aquarium pet for most enthusiasts. These gorgeously skinned fishes are best suited in ponds due to their enormous sizes that can span over 4 feet long.
It also does not help that they grow at a stupendous rate, from less than 2 inches long as juveniles to 24 inches tall upon maturity. There are very few regular-sized aquariums capable of housing such a big fish, let alone two or three, which is the recommended schooling group.
The Jardinii Arowana, a species of freshwater fish, can live for ten to twenty years in captivity, but in the wild, they can reach up to 50 years depending on the species. They can grow up to two feet in captivity, whereas in their natural habitat, they can grow up to three feet, reaching their maximum growth point in about a year and a half. A high-protein diet is necessary for their growth, with a rate of approximately two inches per month. Raising a Jardini Arowana requires preparation and commitment, as they are a long-term companion that can reach the size of a toddler.
They are called ropefish or Reedfish and they are from West and Central Africa. They can survive in low oxygen level water since they have a pair of lungs as well as gills.
They can reach to 1′ size maximum. The Ropefishes are peaceful fishes and they enjoy other ropefish company. They move like snake at the bottom of the tank, you should equip the aquarium with gravel or sand substrate. You can feed them with live food such as insect larva, bloodwarms etc.
Most fish that feed on insects must rely on them falling, landing or being blown into the water. The archerfish has an adaptation that enables it to shoot and catch insect prey. In fact, they are known as “spitting sharpshooters,” able to shoot down insects up to five feet (1.5 m) above the water by spitting a jet of water from its mouth. This is amazing given the index of refraction compensation necessary for accurately aiming through the water-air interface

This is the TRUE albino clown knifefish. It has yellowish white body with RED eyes. The normal coloring of the Clown Knifefish is a silvery gray characterized by a variable pattern of large spots above the base of the anal fin. Yet sometimes they may have no spots at all, and sometimes they may have two rows of smaller spots. Other common names it is known by are Clown Featherback Fish, Spotted Knifefish, Spotted Featherback Fish, and Clown Knife.
The Clown Knifefish is a very popular knifefish. This is partly because of its common availability and being relatively inexpensive. But its also a favorite because it is extremely attractive. They usually have a pattern of large spots, but this can be quite variable and it seems that no two Clown Knifefish are exactly alike.
The Clown Knife has the typical knifefish body shape, flat and elongated with an arched back. Its anal fin and caudal fin (tail fin) are joined, giving it a long continuous fin along the underside. This fin undulates, allowing it to move either forwards or back wards, making it a very graceful swimmer.
They are generally peaceful and will do well with other fish that are not particularly aggressive and that are too large to fit into its mouth.
A distinctively marked large schooling characin, the Black Bar Myleus or Black Bar Silver Dollar makes an impressive display fish in a tank of large cichlids or predatory fish or as a centerpiece fish on their own. With their distinctive vertical black bar, elongated dorsal and anal fins, and combination of silver, red, and iridescent blue coloration, mature specimens are spectacular fish and will display the best behavior and color in a group of 5 or more
