This is the OB form of the Dimidiochromis compressiceps. It is unfairly referred to as the Malawi Eye Biter. This piscivore is found though out the Lake in reeds and Vallisneria beds where it preys on juveniles (particularly Copadichromis spp.) hiding among plants. Its laterally compressed body helps it avoid detection. It has a large protractible mouth can reach out & suck in its victims. This large mouth also accommodates large spawns. This is one of my favorite cichlids on is commonly found is the Hap, Hap/peacock and standard mixes featured on this site. The compressiceps does well with the Red Zebra Stampede and Rainbow Zebra foods, supplemented with Krill. A tank size of 55 gallon and larger is recommended with a temp of 78 to 82 degrees and an aquarium or cichlid salt at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons is also helpful

Odessa Barbs (Pethia padamya) are a freshwater fish that comes from Southeast Asia. They are pretty much exclusively found in the country of Myanmar but some have reported seeing them in nearby countries too (these reports haven’t been verified).
The waters where they originate are rich in vegetation and slightly acidic. They also have a moderate current which these fish can navigate with ease.
This is a shoaling species that will spend most of their time in a group (we’ll get into that in more detail later). They’re a rather active fish and will display curiosity and willingness to investigate all levels of the tank.
While this species is from Myanmar, they actually got their name from Ukraine. The city of Odessa was where these fish picked up initial traction within the fishkeeping community. Soon, this interest spilled into other areas around the world.
The oranda goldfish is a fresh water fish of the Cyprinidae family. These fish are a product of selective breeding and are closely related to the common goldfish
The Orange Lobster (Cambarellus patzcuarensis 'Orange') is a dwarf crayfish prized for its vibrant orange coloration and docile temperament. Unlike larger crayfish species, these peaceful invertebrates coexist harmoniously with freshwater shrimp and community tank inhabitants. Their small size and non-aggressive behavior make them an excellent choice for planted tanks and established invertebrate setups. These selectively bred specimens display consistent coloring and are relatively hardy, adapting well to standard aquarium conditions. Ideal for aquarists seeking to add visual interest without compromising the safety of delicate shrimp populations.

The Panda Cory Catfish (Corydoras panda) is a very animated, distinctively marked schooling fish that is perfect for the community and planted aquarium. It is easily identified by its light pink/tan coloration ornamented by the black dorsal fin, eye stripe, and spot at the base of its tail. Its lively personality easily makes a school of these fish the stars of many aquariums! The Panda Cory Catfish is a very peaceful schooling fish that is compatible with most nano aquarium animals. It might eat dwarf shrimp fry, but is generally safe to keep with adult dwarf shrimp. It is a classic scavenger and will inhabit and feed at the aquarium floor, which should be comprised of sand or smooth gravel. Very coarse substrate can damage its delicate barbels and underbelly. This fish is otherwise very undemanding, and it will accept most dry and frozen foods. It is adaptable to most tropical freshwater conditions as long as standard regular maintenance is performed.
The Panthera Discus exhibits a combination of colors and patterns reminiscent of the majestic big cats it is named after. Its base coloration can vary, typically ranging from shades of beige to golden or amber hues. The body is adorned with bold and distinctive black or dark brown markings that create a striking pattern. These markings can take various forms, such as horizontal stripes, spots, or even rosettes, resembling the patterns found on the coats of panthers or other large feline species. Like other discus fish, the Panthera Discus is relatively large. When fully mature, it can reach a diameter of around 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 centimeters). However, growth rates and maximum sizes can vary depending on factors such as water quality, diet, and overall care. Panthera Discus are generally peaceful and social fish. They can be kept in community aquariums with other non-aggressive fish species that share similar water parameter requirements. Providing ample hiding places, plants, and open swimming space is important to ensure their well-being. They may form small groups or pairs and display breeding behaviors under suitable conditions. Maintaining specific water parameters is crucial for the well-being of Panthera Discus. They typically prefer soft, slightly acidic to neutral water conditions. The recommended temperature range is typically between 82 to 86°F (28 to 30°C). Consistent water quality, regular water changes, and appropriate filtration are essential for their overall health and vitality. Panthera Discus are omnivorous and require a balanced diet. They can be fed high-quality flakes, pellets, and granules specifically formulated for discus fish. Supplementing their diet with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia is recommended to provide essential protein and nutrients. Offering a varied diet enhances their coloration and promotes their overall health.
