- What Do fish eat ?
Discus will eat almost anything. At our facility we mainly feed Tetra pellets, flakes, Hikari frozen black worms, blood worm and high quality homemade Beefheart mix. We recommend you feed them a variety of foods also. Be cautious with frozen foods brand, other than homemade Beefheart mix.
Guppy and Betta will eat pellets and flakes made from fish meal, as well as frozen or freeze-dried bloodworms.
Flower Horn we feed them with Hikari bloodworm, Fresh shrimp and homemade Beefheart mix
Angelfish we feed them with Tetra flake, hikari bloodworms, brine shrimp or mysis shrimp
- What PH and Temperature levels should I keep my aquarium at for raising fish ?
Discus : Generally between 5 to 8. Consistency is key. Our Discus are bred and raised off tap water. We maintain a 7.6 ph and temperature between 82-86 F
Angelfish : Generally between 6.8 to 7.8. Consistency is key. Our Discus are bred and raised off tap water. We maintain a 7.6 ph and temperature between 78-84 F
Flower Horn : Generally between 7.4 to 8. Consistency is key. Our Discus are bred and raised off tap water. We maintain a 7.6 ph and temperature between 80-85 F
Guppy : Generally between 6.8 to 7.8 and temperature 72-78 F
Betta : Generally between 6.8 to 7.8 and temperature : 74-79 F
- What Tank size do I need to raise fish?
Discus : We recommend using at least a 75 gallon tank because Discus grow to be quite large but you can start with 30 gallon tank if it still small.
Flower horn : We recommend using at least a 75 gallon tank because Flower Horn grow to be quite large but you can start with 20 gallon tank if it still small.
Angelfish : We recommend using at least a 55 gallon tank because angelfish grow to be quite large tall aquariums is the best. You can start with 20 gallon high.
- How do you ship your fish ?
- Our discus, Flower horn and Altum angelfish are shipped with Fedex Overnight, UPS next day air and Air Cargo for large quantity to guarantee the safe arrival of your fish.
- Guppies and Bettas and regular angelfish are shipped with USPS Priority and fast shipping is available to upgrade such USPS Express, UPS next day air, Fedex overnight and Air cargo for large quantity.
- When will I receive my fish ?
Packages are shipped within two business days and we only ship Discus, Altum, Flower horn...etc on Tuesday every week for overnight. Once the package is shipped you will receive your package the following day.
Packages are shipped within two business days and we only ship Guppies, Bettas and Regular Angelfish every Tuesday to avoid package delay in carrier warehouse. Once the package is shipped you will receive your package after 2-3 days.
- What do I do if I receive a dead fish?
You will need to contact Texas Aqua, LLC Store immediately by phone or email. We will check your contact time and comparing with delivery time.
A picture of the dead fish in the original unopened bag within one hours of first attempted delivery is also required to be sent to info@txaquatic.com within one hour of arrival. A credit will be issued on your next purchase.
