Red tiger kk parrot Cichlids are beautiful, albeit controversial, freshwater fish. These fish are not found in the wild. Instead, they are a hybrid fish species that was first created in Taiwan around 1986.
The exact species used to create the Blood Parrot Cichlid are not known. However, many think that the Redhead Cichlid (Paraneetroplus synspilus) and Midas Cichlid (Amphilophus citrinellus) are the parent species.
A typical lifespan of a healthy Blood Parrot Cichlid is between 10 and 15 years.

The long fin Yellow Ram Cichlid (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi var. “Gold”) is a striking variant of the ever-popular German Blue Ram Dwarf Cichlid. It has an overall bright yellow/gold coloration that is adorned with neon blue and red highlights across many areas of its body. As with many dwarf cichlids, males generally boast the most intense coloration, especially during spawning. However, unlike many dwarf cichlid species, females are also extremely colorful.
This is Normal Body German Blue ram long fin. According to wiki, The german ram cichlid, Mikrogeophagus ramirezi, is a species of freshwater fish endemic to the Orinoco basin, in the savannahs of venezuela and Colombia in South America. The species has been examined in studies on fish behaviour and is a popular aquarium fish, traded under a variety of common name including ram, blue ram, German blue ram, Asian ram, butterfly cichlid, Ramirez's dwarf cichlid, dwarf butterfly cichlid and Ramirezi. The species is a member of the family Cichlidae and subfamily Geophaginae. The Electric Blue Balloon Ram is prized for its winning personality despite its fierce appearance. With its spiked dorsal fin, low-slung pectoral fins, Mikrogeophagus ramirezi appears to be an aquarium bulldog. However, this member of the Cichlidae family is actually one of the more social and peaceful freshwater fish. In fact, most Rams will actively swim with equally non-aggressive members of your community aquarium and are known to faithfully pair with just one other mate. The Electric Blue Balloon Ram is known for its beautiful electric blue coloration
Our Peacock are about of 4" - 5". The Aulonocara stuartgranti Ngara Flametail Peacock is a truly stunning fish. Males develop a metallic blue color on the face and along their back, down to their tail. Their body eventually develops a strong orange color that starts at their gills and goes down to their tail. Males will get to be about 5" in length and females will be a little smaller.
This is the OB form of the Dimidiochromis compressiceps. It is unfairly referred to as the Malawi Eye Biter. This piscivore is found though out the Lake in reeds and Vallisneria beds where it preys on juveniles (particularly Copadichromis spp.) hiding among plants. Its laterally compressed body helps it avoid detection. It has a large protractible mouth can reach out & suck in its victims. This large mouth also accommodates large spawns. This is one of my favorite cichlids on is commonly found is the Hap, Hap/peacock and standard mixes featured on this site. The compressiceps does well with the Red Zebra Stampede and Rainbow Zebra foods, supplemented with Krill. A tank size of 55 gallon and larger is recommended with a temp of 78 to 82 degrees and an aquarium or cichlid salt at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons is also helpful
The gorgeously blue polar blue parrot cichlids result from artificial cross-breeding between two attractive cichlids. It is an unusual type of fish, so many aquarists want to own one.
They bring together the looks, power, and aggression of the convict cichlids and the parrot cichlids. Their breeding habits are not so different from their parents, and they are not hard to care for, similar to their cross-bred ancestors.
One main characteristic of these cichlids is that their structure is compact and not wide, making them easily adjustable inside the aquarium. Polar blue parrot cichlids are the cutest fishes with an appealing appearance with a blend of black stripes and a blue body.
A truly beautiful hybrid. The result of crossing a male Red Empress with a female OB Peacock and then back crossing with a Red Empress. It's hard to find an OB with such a myriad of colors: Red, yellow and blue. A beautiful and popular hybrid!
- Temperament: Mild to moderately aggressive.
- Compatibility: Keep with other Peacocks and Haps of a similar size. Avoid keeping with Mbunas.
- Suggested Diet: SRC Hi-Intensity color food to promote color development.

The Jewel Cichlid is native to Africa and belongs to the cichlid family. You can find this fish species in streams, rivers, creeks, lakes, and various water lagoons in the wild. A popular species in the aquarium, Jewel Cichlid, is a very colorful fish that also sparkles.
Known as aggressive, the fish needs extensive care as it may be difficult to keep in a home tank if you ignore specific rules. A Jewel Cichlid care guide is therefore important for a beginner.
The Red Spotted Severum is a very popular cichlid. It is a great entry level cichlid, as well as for advance keepers. They do very well when kept in schools. Many hobbyist choose to combine diferent varieties of Severums such as the Green and Gold. They also make a good mate for Oscar Cichlids. They are not fin nippers, but they will hold their own against a slightly larger fish.
Severums (Heros sp.) have been a mainstay in the aquarium hobby for decades. They grow large enough to act as centerpieces, but they are not tank-busters, and they come in a variety of color patterns. Red Spotted Severums are a golden yellow color and develop small red spots throughout their whole bodies as they age. They are typically peaceful, though aggression will surface if pairs form
Geophagus Surinamensis also call red stripe eartheater is a peaceful, relatively non-territorial cichlid, with beautiful, almost iridescent patterns of blue, green and red markings. They are ferocious diggers, foraging constantly for food in the substrate. They are well designed for this, with a long, sloping forehead and eyes placed high on their head.
Anything fed to them in an aquarium should sink, as their preferred method of feeding is to sift through the substrate. They are fond of foods such as whiteworms, bloodworms, daphnia and brine shrimp, but animal proteins are not best for them.
