Ich-X® utilizes the most widely respected formulation for the treatment of ich, using a less toxic form of malachite green, which makes it less taxing on biological action and safe for scaleless and sensitive fish like Corydoras.
This kit includes all the treatments you need to perform a prophylactic treatment for ornamental fish to clean them from the most common fish parasites.
Proven treatment
A treatment protocol has been developed and was tested on Discus fish in a trial that included 1500 discus fish from 11 farms across three countries. Samples were taken prior the treatment and lab tested to confirm multiple parasite infestation in addition to bacteriology test. The treatment protocol included with this kit has been proven to free Discus fish from Dactylogyrus (flukes), Cestoda (tapeworm), Capillaria (nematode worm), Costia, Trichodina, Oodinium and Columnaris. It also significantly reduces the population of intestinal flagellates, which increase under stress, in turn reduce
the fish appetite or refuse food darken body, cause lethargy and white feces.

Treatment procedure:
Caution! To achieve the results we promise the instructions should be followed exactly without any modifications. Any change in the program could result in incomplete eradication of parasites or incomplete treatment of diseases. Before you start: a. It is always recommended to treat new fish in hospital tanks. Ideally a hospital tank will have only an air stone to supply air and a heater to control temperature (30-32 C during QT is highly recommended).
A sponge filter or any other type of filter is not required because large water changes will need to be performed.
B. If your aquariums are not new and previously had fish it is recommended to sterilize them. The most economical method is to use household bleach* at 50ml/100L of aquarium water for 24 hours. After that empty out the water and rinse the aquarium well and remove the rinsing water. Fill back the aquarium and add an aquarium water conditioner at a normal dose. Make sure there is no smell of residual chlorine. Complete this procedure at least 24-48 hours before the day of adding the new fish.
WARNING: After sterilization with bleach, you should remove all the water and rinse the aquarium well before refilling it back again. Not removing all traces of chlorine before adding new fish will cause death or severe damage to your fish. If the aquarium has any filter media or substrate that may trap the chlorine and release it back again in the new water!
Day 1:
A. On the first day of receiving your new fish, the first step will be to perform a 4hrs Chloramine-T bath in external container before adding them to the aquarium.
B. Prepare containers with 20-30 Liters of water (you can use the Styrofoam box the fish were shipped in or a plastic tub) with air stones in them -we will call this water bath-. Let the fish bags equalize to the room temperature so that the temperature in the prepared water baths is equal to the bags. Open the fish bags that the fish were shipped in and immediately take out the fish (without the shipping water) tothe receiving water bath.
C. Prepare a stock solution of Chloramine-T and add the correct dose to the water bath depending on your pH and water hardness. Please follow instructions in the Chloramine-T data sheet.
D. Monitor, the fish carefully through the 4 hours, normally the fish should be relaxed. If any sign of excessive stress or the fish looks restless, transfer it to the aquarium. After 4 hours have passed, transfer the fish to their aquariums.
E. After transferring all the fish to the aquarium add Bactocide 1(for dosage refer to Bactocideinstructions)Hint: it is beneficial to add salt at 1g/L to enhance osmotic balance and elevate stress in the fish during first 7 days.
Day 2:
After 24 hours have passed, since adding Bactocide, Make a 70-100% water change and repeat the dose. Hint: You can make the water change every 48 hours instead of 24hrs by adding a suitable water treatment product that will protect the fish from ammonia.
A dose that will neutralize up to 1 mg/L ammonia is recommended.
Day 8: Perform a 100% water change.
Day 9: Stop feeding and Add FLUKE X and WORMER X according to instruction on each productFLUKE X and WORMER X do not need water change to work, however, the water needs to be changed to keep it clean in absence of Bio-filtration. To remain safe use a product like ChloramX or Safe to neutralize ammonia. Hint: Like with Bactocide if you are using a product to neutralize ammonia you can extend the water change to 48h instead of every 24h.
Note: even if you had bio-filter active its effect will be reduced or eliminated after using Bactocide.
Day 11: Perform a 100% water change and re-dose only Fluke X and stop adding WormerX ( Please pay attention to your ammonia levels and conduct large water changes if needed).
Day 16: Stop adding FLUKE X and end treatment with a water change.
NOTE: By now you have completed the first round of deworming for both nematodes and tapeworms, However, these parasites produce eggs that are not affected by the medicine (And in some cases flukes that were shielded in the first round) and will re-infest the fish when they hatch in another week. Therefore, it is very important to repeat the treatment again on Day 24.
Day 24: Add FLUKE X and WORMER X according to instruction on each product.
Day 26: Perform a 100% water change and re-dose only Fluke X and stop adding Wormer X
Day 31: Stop adding FLUKE X and end treatment with a water change.
Congratulations!
By now, your fish are free from flukes and nematodes. You can enjoy keeping healthy fish that grow and breed happily, fish that will not fall easily to disease because they are not made weak byparasites.
INFO: This product is for use on Aquarium ornamental fish only.
Please note that the description may have been updated since this product description was created. Therefore, it is important to always follow the dosing instructions that comes with the product.

Highly Effective & Safe Too!
- Treates flukes, tapeworms, flatworms, and turbellarians
- Proven active ingredient with a long safety history
- Easy to use, fully homogeneous formula
- Won't negatively impact biological filtration
- Can be used as a preventative
- Excellent when used before Ich-X®(as a separate treatment following a large water change)
For treatment of praziquantel-susceptible disease conditions in pond, freshwater and marine aquariums and ornamental pond fishes.
Start each treament or retreatment with as large a water change as practical (at least 30%) or start with new water. Any water used should first be conditioned with Ultimate® or a combination of Liquid Buffered ClorAm-X® and Stress-X™ to remove ammonia, chlorine and chloramines. Do not stop filtration, but remove activated carbon and stop foam-fractionation (protein skimming) and UV sterilization-failure to do so will render product ineffective. SHAKE VIGOROUSLY before use. Measure Liquid PraziPro® at the rate of one (1) teaspoon (~5mL) per 20 (76L) gallons of water to be treated (one [1] fl. oz. [29.5 mL] per 120 gallons [454L]). Care should be taken to treat the exact amount of water in the system. This means deductions for substrate, rock or coral and any other internal equipment is necessary. You can calculate the amount of water in your aquarium by taking a measurement of the length x width x depth of the area with water and dividing by 231 for approximate volume. This produces a concentration of 2.5 mg/L. Distribute the proper amount around the edge of the pond or aquarium or directly in to the filter box to achieve the best overall distribution. A single treatment lasting 5-7 days may be sufficient. Retreat as necessary, but no more than once every 3 days. May be used as a preventative, at the standard dosage, when disease is likely. Do not use with any other drugs or disease treatments. May cause noticeable temporary foaming. It's important to note that most parasites in the class that PraziPro® would be used for have up to a 28 day life cycle. This means for major issues, up to four (4), uninterrupted treatments may be required to resolve the issue. Over dosing will not speed impact.
DO NOT OVERDOSE - this means you should calculate the actual amount of water in your tank by multiplying the length x width x height and dividing by 238 to get the true gallons. Please also deduct the amount of space consumed by substrate (gravel, sand, etc.) rock, decorations or other things which are displacing water.
NOTE: We do not recommend using any sulfur or sulfinite-based water conditioners with this product. If your normal water conditioner does not list the ingredients please verify with the maker that it does not contain these ingredients. If you notice any rotten egg smell to the product, it likely does have these ingredients and should be avoided as it could cause the product to be less effective and the dissolved oxygen levels to be negatively impacted.
Use Liquid PraziPro® any time unwanted parasites are noticed or introduction is probable.
Compatibilities: There are no known compatibility issues with the use of Liquid PraziPro® except for use in marine (saltwater) systems where flatworms of the Polycladida order are being cultured and when used where feather duster worms (sabellidae) or delicate worm-type relatives are kept. For heavily stocked aquariums or marine aquariums with lots of coral, added aeration is suggested.
Because we care: PraziPro® has been developed to offer assistance to aquarium or pond keepers who are encountering problems with unwanted worms or parasites and for ease of use by the user.
SulfaPlex™ is an effective and safe treatment for many bacterial, fungal and protozoan infestations in the aquarium. While it can be used in both freshwater and saltwater, it is particularly effective against the common bacterial and fungal infections of freshwater fish. It is also among the gentler antibiotics, and great for treating fish that are already stressed. It is easily removed with carbon and does not impair nitrification.
Active ingredients: sulfathiazole (69%) Inactive ingredients: excipients (31%)
Dosing in Water
Remove all invertebrates - these are extremely sensitive to medication. Turn off UV filters, ozone filters, and remove chemical filtration . Use 2-3 measures (included) per every every 40 L (10 US gallons). Repeat this dose every 72 hours for a maximum of 3 weeks.
Dosing in Food
SulfaPlex™ is most effective when used in the water, but it can also be added to the food. Feed the medicated food mix (recipe below) every day until the infection clears or up to 3 weeks.
To enhance palatability use with Garlic guard
After Treating
When the treatment period is over, SulfaPlex™ can easily be removed using activated filter carbon. It does not linger in the substrate or filter media of the tank.

Rid·Ich Plus is recommended as the best chemical treatment for Ich, (white spot disease), having been originally developed decades ago for professional aquaculture, public aquariums, and government use in treating fishes. Other than refinement in ingredients, it has continued to remain as the foremost scientifically developed chemical treatment for Ich white spot disease. Efficacy is improved and the treatment time is often reduced when compared to treatment with either the chemicals malachite or formalin alone. (contains 4.26% of formalin and 0.038% of zinc-free chloride salt of malachite green
The Rid·Ich Plus formula utilizes the less common but also less toxic chloride salt of malachite green (this is the same salt used in Kordon's Malachite Green). Zinc-free Malachite green binds strongly with the internal cytoplasmic structure of disease causing organisms interfering in normal metabolism. U.S. P. Formalin is a powerful reducing agent which acts by denaturing cell proteins.
The recommended treatment concentration of Rid·Ich Plus should be approached with caution, carefully observing the reactions of the treated fishes and ceasing treatment if any undue stress is noted. Remember, when the first outward signs of Ich (scattered spots) are noticed, the fish is often quite heavily parasitic in the mouth and gills - lowering the fish's ability to withstand additional stress. The weaker the fishes' condition, the poorer its response will be to any medication. Rid·Ich Plus has been shown to be reasonably safe for use on fishes which normally cannot tolerate malachite green alone.
Rid·Ich Plus will not interfere with biological filtration. The lowering of dissolved oxygen levels in treated water is often associated with the use of formalin or formalin-containing medications. The use of Rid·Ich Plus allows a lower concentration of formalin to be utilized. This decreases the chances of lowering the dissolved oxygen. However (as noted above), treated fishes should be carefully observed for any signs of respiratory distress. It should be noted that while increased temperatures will often shorten the life cycle of some disease-causing organisms, it will also cause a decrease in the dissolved oxygen levels of the water. Do not increase the temperature in tanks or ponds used for treatment, unless sufficient oxygen is assured.
Rid·Ich Plus is stable indefinitely in solution. It must be stored above 50° F (10° C) to prevent product precipitation. Do not freeze. Do not use Rid·Ich Plus, or any product containing formaldehyde that has been frozen. Keep tightly closed when not in use to prevent loss of formaldehyde.

Before use
• Read the full user guide carefully and apply all the recommended instructions.
• A recommended hospital tank will only contain an air stone for aeration and a heater if needed.
• Daily water change should be adopted as means of controlling water quality during treatment. Adding water conditioner that binds and neutralize chlorine AND ammonia is highly recommended.
• It is recommended to stop feeding, during the treatment if you still want to feed or must feed, do it lightly and keep more attention to siphoning away any food or fish waste daily, also in this case you MUST be using water conditioner that binds and neutralize chlorine AND ammonia.
• Always start by cleaning the aquarium, whipping the glass and having clean treated water at the correct conditions for the fish.
• In case you still treat in a display tank follow these steps to increase the success rate and reduce risk. Wipe the glass surface, siphon the substrate, and any waste accumulated under or around décor, filter media…etc.
• Take care when cleaning the filter media not to do it with chlorinated water or any cleaning agent, or over cleaning it in a way that will remove most or all the beneficial bacteria(biofilm). Some products will directly kill the filter bacteria, such products will have a warning on the back of the package.
Method of use
Please use this table to identify the correct dose based on your water conditions
Caution: This step is very important; you need to know the pH and GH of your water to determine the safe dose level. Using a high dose than what is allowed based on your pH/GH level may cause serious damage or death to the fish. If in doubt or on the boarder go for the lower concentration.
Discus and koi short bath First step prepare dilute PROTECT X stock solution by dissolving 2 level spoons (included) or 2g -using weight measurement is much more accurate- of PROTECT X powder in one liter of water mix well until completely dissolved. Place the fish in a tub with clean water (with no chlorine or chloramine and without any chlorine removal chemicals) add an air stone for aeration. Add the amount indicated in the table above for every 10 liters.
Keep the fish in the bath for a maximum of 5 hours, keep an eye on the fish during this period. If you notice signs the fish can’t tolerate the bath anymore, remove it to its aquarium. This bath can be repeated daily up to 5 days.
Example If your water has pH 7.0 and GH = 6 dH, then the corresponding dose is 50ml from the stock solution to every 10 Liter. If your bath is 30L you will add 50ml for every 10L = 50x3 = 150ml.
Discus long bath Add 1 level spoon (included) or 1g PROTECT X powder to every 330L of aquarium water. This will produce a concentration of 3mg/L. Use this bath for 24hrs followed by at least 90% water change and can be repeated up to 4 consecutive days.
Other ornamental fish PROTECT X has not been tested extensively on other ornamental fish so it is advised to practice caution, try lower concentration first and keep an eye on the fish. At first signs of distress end the treatment. Here again water hardness as well as pH are two important parameters to consider to adapt the concentration to your own conditions. Always make a small test first.
OTHER APPLICATIONS Tank disinfection During the production stops, it is of major importance to thoroughly clean and disinfect the tanks and ponds when they are empty to avoid contamination of the next production lot. Start by cleaning to remove the organic matter and then disinfect by spraying or rinsing with a 1% PROTECT X solution (or with a 2% in case of heavy contamination). How to prepare 1-2% solution, dissolve 1 spoon (1g) for every 100ml water (for 2% use 2 spoons). Equipment disinfection Spray all equipment used in the fish farm with a 1% PROTECT X solution or dipped the equipment into the PROTECT X solution for 30 min. Net disinfection a 1-2% PROTECT X solution is used for net disinfection, with a contact time of 30 min.
pH Soft Water (GH <6°dH) ml/10L Hard Water (GH >6°dH) ml/10L 6.0 12.5 35 6.5 25 50 7.0 50 75 7.5 90 90 8.0 100 100
Stagnant fresh water ponds/storage tanks PROTECT X is added at a concentration of 3 ppm (3 g/1000L) once a week. Water pH and hardness are two important parameters to consider to optimize the PROTECT X concentration. As a rule, with acidic pH, a lower concentration should be used and with increasing water hardness, a higher PROTECT X concentration is recommended. Also, if using a biofilter in a recirculated water system, special attention must be taken. Fish egg disinfection To reduce surface contamination, fish eggs can be dipped in a 1 g/l PROTECT X solution for 1-5 min followed by a clean water wash. The time can change based on water condition and size of the eggs, it is better to do this dip in neutral to high pH and normal to hard water, rather than soft acidic water. Always start by the minimum time ad move upwards to get the maximum safe time.
Discus X disease prevention philosophy
• This procedure is applied successfully in Discus X Farm facility to prophylactically clean breeding stock before adding to the central filtered breeding system.
• Following this method will ensure a more enjoyable hobby in your main display aquarium, free of reoccurring fish health issues like not growing properly, dull coloration, loss of appetite or even death.
• This happens because we allowed many types of external and/or internal parasites to enter and live in our main tank, and will be ready to cause disease in at any time the fish are stressed due to water conditions, bullying, heavy parasite load, infection pressure … etc.
• Thus, Discus X recommends aquarium professionals as well as keen to always apply our QT kit Procedure using our QT kit PRO on any new fish in hospital tank prior introduction to display aquarium, fish room ...etc. to achieve the above results.
Precaution and storage information Store in a cool (room temperature) dry place, don’t place in a fridge to avoid water condensation on and inside the package in humid environments.
